NHS England invited GP practices to submit their 'expressions of interest" to be one of the first wave of pilots in December 2013, before selecting the final list of successful schemes in April 2014. Twenty pilot schemes were selected that are now benefiting over 7 million patients across more than 1,100 practices

The GP Alliance in Vale Royal and South Cheshire is proud to be one of the many successful bidders across the country and have been awarded funding to deliver new and innovative ways to help improve the way that patients access their GP.

Here in Vale Royal and South Cheshire we've spent a great deal of time listening to what our patients and staff have been saying and have set on a course of improving access to your GP by extending the opening hours of practices across the region.

There are over 21 practices in the region that at involved in the Open For You service, some opening early and late, others opening at their usual times but staying open longer into the evening whilst others are even opening at the weekends, all dependent upon what their patients are saying.
